    The inner disc depicts a planet orbited by numerous satellites. Along the edge of the coin are various modes of transport using satellite navigation: an airplane, train, cars, and a ship. To the left of the sea vessel is the artist Thomas Pesendorfer's mark - 'TP'. Along the edge of the coin is the German inscription 'EUROPÄISCHE SATELLITENNAVIGATION' (European Satellite Navigation).

    Centered against a compass background is a six-line inscription: 'Position der Münze Österreich NÖRDLICHE BREITE 48° 12' 12'',3 ÖSTLICH VON GREENWICH 16° 22' 58'',7' (Location of the Austrian Mint: northern latitude 48° 12' 12'',3 east of Greenwich 16° 22' 58'',7), below it the year of issue '2006'. Along the rim are German inscriptions: on the left, top, and right the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), at the bottom the inscription '25 EURO' (25 Euro). Dots separate the letters.
