In the central part is the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky in Kyiv. Along the arc of the left and right edge of the coin is his name in Ukrainian: «Богдан Хмельницький» (Bohdan Khmelnytsky), below along the rim are the years of his life 1595-1657.
Obverse
In the central part, within a circle of dots, is the coat of arms of Ukraine framed by two branches with leaves and berries. Above the coat of arms is the year of mintage 1995. Below the coat of arms is a two-line semicircular inscription: «200 000 КАРБОВАНЦІВ» - 200 thousand Karbovanets. To the left, top, and right along the rim, separated by two rhombuses, is an inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'.
