In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a soldier running with a weapon against a background of naval warships. Below are two horizontal lines of text: 'FIVE' and 'DOLLARS'.
  • Obverse
In the central part is depicted the coat of arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, which is a circular disc with an angel framed by two interlinked chains. Along the outer edge of the disc at the top is the name of the state in English 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS', at the bottom — the motto in Marshallese 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN', translated as 'Accomplishment Through Joint Effort'. Two rays emanate upwards from the angel's head, between which is a twenty-four-pointed star. Above the angel's wings, on the right is a fishing net, on the left — a shell tool. Below the wings: on the right — a canoe, on the left — coconut palms. Below the angel is an image of a traditional Marshallese navigational chart in perspective, below it an inscription on a ribbon 'Seal'. Below the outer chain, to the left of the disc, is the $5 sign — 'five dollars', to the right — the year of minting '1994'.
