Along the upper edge from left to right is an inscription in Danish: 'DANIÆ NORVEGIÆ VAN.GOTH.REX.', denoting the title of the King of Denmark and Norway. Below the inscription is the year of minting, 1812. The edge of the coin is decorated with dentils.

    The central part features the right-facing profile of King Frederik VI. To the left, above, and to the right along the rim is the king's name in Danish: 'FRIDERICUS VI DEI GRATIA' with the suffix 'Gratiosus' (Gracious). The edge of the coin is decorated with dentils.
