    In the central part is a hole, below it a radiant eagle with wings spread, head turned left. Above the hole in a radiance is the emblem of the Emperor of Japan (16-petal chrysanthemum). On the sides are Japanese characters: left '錢', right '五' (5 sen). Along the edge arc are elements in the form of dots.
  • Obverse
    In the center is a hole, surrounded by eight relief dots and curved comma-shaped beads (magatama). Along the edge are dots, alongside which are Japanese characters: top '本 日 大' (Great Japan), bottom '年 九 和 昭' (Year 9 of the Showa era). Left and right is a five-petal flower.
