In the central part, within the inner field, is the coat of arms of the Finnish region of Uusimaa. It features a crowned heraldic shield with a boat facing left in the center, and stylized depictions of a river in the form of curved broad lines above and below. To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' - the designer's mark of Nora Tapper, and a heraldic lion within a circle - the mintmark of the Finnish Mint. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2012'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).

Depicted are the domes of cathedrals: on the left, the Uspenski Cathedral, on the right, the Helsinki Cathedral. Above, horizontally, is the country name 'Finland' in two languages on two lines: in Finnish 'SUOMI' and Swedish 'FINLAND'. Below, near the rim, is the Latin letter 'N' - the designer's mark of Petri Neuvonen.
