    In the central part, there is a hut with palm trees on both sides. Along the upper edge arc is the name of the island group and the year of minting 'FIJI 1947'. Below is the inscription 'THREE PENCE'. Left and right are decorative patterns.

    In the central part is the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain wearing a crown. To the left, right, and along the bottom edge is the text 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR'. Below the neck truncation are the initials of the medallist Percy Metcalfe - 'PM'.
