    In the central part is the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain wearing a crown. To the left, right, and along the bottom edge is the text 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR'. Below the neck truncation are the initials of the medallist Percy Metcalfe - 'PM'.
