The central part features an inscription in four lines: CHISTAGO SEREBRA 2 ZOLOTN=10 1/2 DOLEY. Above the inscription is the Imperial crown. Below the inscription is a straight line, and below that is the designation of the Saint Petersburg Mint: S.P.B. In the left part of the coin, along the edge, is a laurel branch, and in the right part, an oak branch. The branches are tied together at the base with a ribbon. The coin's edge has raised elements in the form of denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'P', under the left is the letter 'S'. These are the initials of mintmaster Pavel Stupitsyn. To the left of the coat of arms is the circular inscription 'MONETA', to the right—'POLTINA'. Below the initials is the year of minting '1818'. The inscriptions are separated from each other by three six-pointed stars. The rim is decorated with short denticles pointing towards the center.
