Obverse Along the rim are inscriptions in English, on the left: "ELIZABETH II", on the right - the country name Australia and the year of minting: "AUSTRALIA 1970". In the central part is a right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. Below the truncation of the neck are the letters: "IRB", denoting the initials of the designer, Ian Rank-Broadley.
