    In the central part, the princely monogram: a crowned heraldic shield with the Latin letter 'R' mirrored to the right. Along the edge in an arc: at the top the inscription in French '2 FRANCS', at the bottom the year of issue '1979', flanked on the left by a cornucopia (mint mark of the Paris Mint) and on the right by a dolphin (mark of the Chief Engraver Emile Rousseau).
  • Obverse
    In the center is the right-facing profile of the 13th Prince of Monaco, Rainier III. Around the circumference along the rim is the name and title in French 'RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO', below - a cross. Under the truncation is the engraver's mark - 'G. SIMON'.
