Reverse
The central part features the coat of arms of Colombia. In the upper part, along the rim's arc, is the Spanish text: 'DOS DECIMOS' (two decimos), separated from other inscriptions by two five-pointed stars. Along the arc of the left rim is the weight: 'G.5', and on the right, the silver fineness: 'LEI 0,835'. Along the arc of the lower rim is the Spanish inscription: 'MEDELLIN' - the mint in the city of Medellín. The rim is decorated with dot-like elements.
Obverse
The central part depicts the goddess Liberty facing left, wearing a headband with the Spanish inscription 'LIBERTAD' (Liberty). Below her is the year of issue - 1872. To the left, above, and to the right is the Spanish inscription: 'ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA', which translates to 'United States of Colombia'. In the lower part, along the rim's arc, are nine five-pointed stars. The rim is decorated with dot-like elements.
