  • Reverse
    Decorative raised denticles along the rim. In the central part, an armillary sphere on a background of a widened cross. Along the arc of the coin's edge, in the spaces between the ends of the cross, inscriptions in Latin: 'SUBQ.', 'SIGN.', 'NATA', 'STAB.', which translates as 'Under this sign he was born and will remain'. The symbol 'B' in the center of the sphere is the mint mark for Bahia.

    Along the rim: to the right, bottom, and left, an inscription in Latin 'JOANNES. D. G. PORT. E. ALG. P. REGENS.', translating to 'John, by the Grace of God, of Portugal and the Algarve, Regent'. In the central part, the Coat of Arms of Portugal: a heraldic shield crowned with an imperial crown. In the central part of the shield, arranged in the shape of a cross, are 5 small shields each with five bezants. Along the edges of the large shield is a wide border with seven castles. The heraldic shield at the top separates the inscription '18 / 07' — the year of minting 1807. At the level of the central part of the shield, arranged vertically: on the left, horizontally lying digits '640' between two dots; on the right — three four-petaled flowers between two dots above and below.
