    Along the upper edge, the French inscription: "UNITÉ EGALITÉ PAIX" - "UNITY EQUALITY PEACE". In the center is the head of an antelope. To its right is the numeral 2, and to its left the letter designation for franc - "FRS". Between the antelope's horns are 20 ostrich feathers. Along the left and right edges of the coin are images of two fish facing opposite directions from each other.

    Along the edge from left to right is the French text: "REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI" - "REPUBLIC OF DJIBOUTI". Below: "1996" - the year of minting. In the center is the emblem of Djibouti: a laurel wreath, inside of which are two traditional daggers held in hands, as well as a spear and a shield.
