    In the center, within an openwork circular frame, is a palm tree dividing the date of issue into two parts, with '19' on the left and '20' on the right (1920). Along the upper edge is the inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA'. At the bottom is 'TWO SHILLINGS' - 6 PENCE. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the center is the left-facing profile of King George V of Great Britain wearing a crown. Along the edge of the coin runs the Latin inscription '∙GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:', which translates to 'GEORGE V BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL THE BRITONS, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, EMPEROR OF INDIA'. Below the portrait is a dot. The rim is decorated with raised decorative denticles.
