In the central part, the mountains of Nepal are depicted; against their background, the moon and sun face each other; below is the English text 'Visit Nepal 98'. Along the upper edge arc is the name 'श्री भवानी' (Shri Bhagwan), below is 'नेपाल ५ रुपैयाँ' (Nepal 5 rupees).
Obverse
In the center is a trident within a circle, behind it a square inscribed in a circle, with the inscription 'श्री ५ वीरेन्द्र वीर विक्रम शाहदेव' inside it. Outside the square are: on the left - a gear and a lotus flower; at the top the inscription 'श्री श्री', enclosed between the moon and sun; on the left – a conch shell and a staff; at the bottom – the year of minting according to the Vikram Samvat calendar '२०५४'. Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots.
