Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the Spanish text 'REPUBLICA PERUANA', translating to 'Peruvian Republic'. The year of mintage, 1960, is at the bottom. In the central part is a right-facing female profile.
