In the left part, inscriptions in two lines: at the top '2 PESOS', below it the name of the state 'REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA'. In the right part, the outlines are depicted: the coast of Argentina, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Antarctica, and Waterlow Island. Along the lower edge arc is the year of minting '2012'. All inscriptions are in Spanish.

In the center, the territory of the Falkland Islands is depicted, overlaid with the emblem of the 'Union of South American Nations'. At the top is the year of the British landing on the Falklands to restore their authority '1833'. At the bottom is the period of British occupation '1982-2012'. Along the rim are inscriptions in Spanish: at the top the Argentine name for the disputed territory 'MALVINAS', flanked on both sides by a sun, at the bottom 'CAUSA REGIONAL AMBRICANA'.
