Obverse
Along the upper edge of the coin is a Latin inscription: "REPVBBLICA ITALIANA" - "ITALIAN REPUBLIC". In the central part is a right-facing profile head crowned with an oak wreath. Below, in two lines, is the inscription: "ROMAGNOLI GIAMPAOLI - INC", denoting the designers: Giuseppe Romagnoli and Pietro Giampaoli.
