    In the central part is the state symbol of the Belgian Congo — a stylized image of a five-pointed star. To the left of the upper ray, along the border of dots, is the number 10; to the right is the inscription 'C.', meaning 'ten centimes'. The inscription 'ES' indicates the mint mark. On either side of the star are three rosettes in the form of five-pointed stars, arranged vertically. Below the lower rays is the year of issue '1889'.
  • Obverse
    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. In the right part, along the arc of the coin's edge starting from a star-shaped rosette, is an inscription in French: 'LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES SOUV.DE LETAT INDEP.DU CONGO' — Belgian King Leopold II, Sovereign of the Independent State of the Congo. In the central part, five royal ciphers are evenly placed around the hole.
