All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the left). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. The coats of arms on the wings (four on each wing): Kazan, Polish, Tauride, Astrakhan, Siberian, Georgian, Kiev and Novgorod, Vladimir. Below the eagle, in a semicircle from left to right: the inscription "РУБЛЬ", a floral rosette, the mint year "1886 Г.". The rim is decorated with denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of Russian Emperor Alexander III. In the lower part of the coin is a five-leaf floral rosette, visually indicating the start of the inscription: Б.М. АЛЕКСАНДРЪ III ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОССIЙСКIЙ. The rim is decorated with patterned denticles pointing towards the center.
