Around the edge, the country name in French: 'TERRITOIRE FRANÇAIS DES AFARS ET DES ISSAS' - French Territory of the Afars and Issas.

In the central part, the left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, against a background of ships in a harbor. Below it, the artist's signature 'L.BAZOR' - Lucien Georges Bazor. In the left part, along the edge, the inscription in French: 'REPUBLIQUE', on the right - 'FRANÇAISE', which translates to French Republic, below - the year of issue: 1968 and a cornucopia, the mintmark of the Paris Mint.
