To its left is the Gregorian year of issue: "1969", to its right - the Hijri year: "١٣٨٩" - "1389". Surrounding them is a circle of olive leaves and fruits. Along the lower rim is the FAO inscription: "F.A.O.". Near it is the denomination: on the right in English: "QUARTER DINAR", on the left in Arabic: "ربع دينار". The rim is decorated with raised denticles.

Along the rim are Arabic inscriptions: on the right: "ملك المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية" - "KING OF THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN", on the left: "الحسين بن طلال" - "HUSSEIN IBN TALAL". In the center is his right-facing profile. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
