    At the top is the Crown of the British Empire. In the center is a hole. To the left and right along the rim is the inscription: 'GEORGIVS VI REX ET IND: IMP:', which translates from Latin as: 'GEORGE VI KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA'. Around the hole is the denomination 'ONE HALF PENNY' in English (left, top, and right) and in Arabic script with diacritics below: 'دصف ثني'. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
