    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a steppe eagle taking flight. Along the edge of the coin, from left to right, is its name in Ukrainian: «ОРЕЛ СТЕПОВИЙ» and in Latin: «AQUILA RAPAX», which translates as 'Steppe Eagle'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the name of the country in Ukrainian: «УКРАЇНА». Above it is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. Below it, a two-line semicircular inscription: «2 ГРИВНI» - 2 (two) hryvnias. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the year of mintage: 1999. The coin's rim features a decorative wreath element incorporating various representatives of flora and fauna.
