Reverse
In the central part is the numeral 2, to its right is the outline of Europe, from which six vertical rays extend upwards and downwards. Along the arc of the right edge, intersecting these rays, are twelve five-pointed stars. On Europe, an inscription in English: 'EURO'. Below the inscription to the right is the monogram 'LL' - the mark of engraver Luc Luycx.
Obverse
In the central part, within a yellow circle, is a stylized image of the globe, on the surface of which are people, houses, and industrial buildings. The Euro symbol is superimposed on the image of the Earth. At the top, in a semicircle, is the name of the state of Cyprus in Greek and Turkish: 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ KIBRIS'. At the bottom, in a semicircle, are the years 2002-2012. Around the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars.
