Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a fennec fox. Above it is the year 1992 in the Gregorian calendar and the corresponding year 1413 in the Islamic calendar. Along the edge arc of the coin from left to right is a decorative element consisting of dots, circles, and a wavy line.
Obverse
In the central part, within a smaller circle, is the number 1/4. In the upper part, along the edge arc of the coin, is text in Arabic: 'Bank of Algeria'. In the lower part, along the edge arc of the coin, is an inscription in Arabic: 'dinar'. The inscriptions are separated by two five-pointed stars.
