Reverse Along the upper edge, the country name 'JAMAICA' in English. Below, the inscription ONE PENNY. In the center, within a beaded circle, the coat of arms of Jamaica: an English heraldic shield with the Cross of St. George and five pineapples. Above the shield, a crocodile on a log. Below the shield, a motto ribbon with the Latin inscription 'INDUS UTERQUE SERVIET UNI'.
Obverse Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised beads. In the upper part, along the edge, the text 'VICTORIA QUEEN'. Below, the year of minting '1880'. The inscriptions are separated by two rosettes. In the center, the left-facing profile of Queen Victoria wearing a diadem. The portrait is framed by a beaded circle.
