In the central part is depicted an Andean condor, breaking a chain with its beak and claws. Along the edge arc of the coin from left to right runs text in Spanish: "POR LA RAZÓN O LA FUERZA" - "BY REASON OR FORCE". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
