    In the central part is the numeral 2, to its right is the outline of Europe, from which six vertical rays extend upwards and six downwards. Along the arc of the right edge, crossing these rays, are twelve five-pointed stars. On Europe, an inscription in English: 'EURO'. To the right below the inscription is the monogram 'LL' - the mark of engraver Luc Luycx.

    In the central part, within a yellow-colored circle, is a design stylized as an ancient coin, featuring a stick-figure person drawn by a child's hand holding the Euro sign. Below the Euro sign is the monogram of engraver Georges Stamatopoulos. At the top of the coin, the name of the state Slovakia is inscribed in a semicircle in Slovak: 'SLOVENSKO'. To the left is the mintmark of the Kremnica Mint. At the bottom, in a semicircle, is the inscription in Slovak: 'HMU' - one and the years 1999-2009. Around the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars.
