The central part features the Difference Engine, with a schematic representation of a computing machine superimposed on it, depicted as tablets with English inscriptions: in the center - 'CENTRAL PROCESSOR', below - 'MEMORY', on the left - 'INPUT DEVICE', on the right - 'OUTPUT DEVICE'. Above the image is a cameo with a left-facing portrait of the inventor, Charles Babbage, with his name 'CHARLES BABBAGE' and lifespan '1792-1871'. Below the image is the English text 'FIRST COMPUTER' and the year of invention '1823'. Along the edge of the coin are English inscriptions: at the top 'INVENTIONS OF THE MODERN WORLD', at the bottom in two lines '1 CROWN'.
Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are English inscriptions: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1995'. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
