Above the image is a cameo with a left-facing portrait of the inventor, Charles Babbage, with his name 'CHARLES BABBAGE' and lifespan '1792-1871'. Below the image is the English text 'FIRST COMPUTER' and the year of invention '1823'. Along the edge of the coin are English inscriptions: at the top 'INVENTIONS OF THE MODERN WORLD', at the bottom in two lines '1 CROWN'.
