    The side is divided into three sectors on two levels, separated by two wavy curves resembling an oscilloscope trace and arranged in mirror reflection. The central sector features an image of the Academy of Sciences building in Budapest (Hungary), with the inscription on the building: 'MAEYAR TYDOMANYOS AKADEMIA', which translates from Hungarian: 'Hungarian Academy of Sciences'. To the left of the building near the rim is the engraver's mark of József Garanyi. The upper sector has 1825, the lower sector 1975.

    The side is divided by six curved lines into seven sectors located on four different levels. The upper sector bears the inscription: '200 FORINT' - (200 forints). In the central sector near the right rim is the engraver's mark of József Garanyi. The lower sector has the inscription 'MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG' - translating from Hungarian: 'Hungarian People's Republic', the abbreviation 'BP.' - indicating the Budapest Mint, and 1975 – the year of mintage.
