In the central part, a three-line inscription: 50 PENNIÄ 1917. Along the left and right edges of the coin is a wreath of oak branches, which do not meet at the top. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a double bow. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.

In the central part, the full Coat of Arms of the Grand Duchy of Finland, 1917 pattern, is depicted — a double-headed eagle without crowns, on its chest a shield with the titular coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Finland, crowned with a princely crown. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the left talon is the mark of the Director of the Helsinki Mint — the letter 'S', Isak Gustaf Sundell. The rim is decorated with denticles.
