In the central part, a large Imperial Seal, topped with ornamental patterns. Above it, the inscription in Japanese: «五» - 5, below it the inscription in Japanese: «銭» - sen. Along the edge of the coin is a dotted relief border.
Obverse
In the central part, a heraldic eagle against a background of 10 sun rays. Above it, the country name in Japanese: «本日大» - Great Japan. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, the year of minting in Japanese: «年五十和昭» - the 15th year of Hirohito (Showa 15). The coin's edge features a raised border composed of dots.
