In the central part, the Coat of Arms of Portugal: a heraldic shield crowned with an imperial crown. In the central part of the shield, arranged in the shape of a cross, are 5 small shields each with five bezants. Along the edges of the large shield is a wide border with seven castles. The heraldic shield at the top separates the inscription «18 / 16» — the year of mintage 1816. At the level of the shield's center along the vertical axis are: on the left, horizontally placed digits «320» between two dots; on the right — three four-petaled flowers between two dots at the top and bottom.
