    In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, Arabic text: "أربعة قروش" - "FOUR QIRSH". In the center - a large numeral 4: "٤". Below - the year of minting: "١٣٧٦" - "1376" - according to the Hijri calendar or 1956 according to the Gregorian calendar.

    Along the rim are Arabic inscriptions, at the top: "ملك المملكة العربية السعودية" - "KING OF SAUDI ARABIA", at the bottom: "سعود بن عبد العزيز آل سعود" - "SAUD IBN ABDUL AZIZ AL SAUD". In the central part is the country's coat of arms - a palm tree over two crossed traditional swords.
