    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a sawfish, top view, and the denomination in French: "10 FRANCS". Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in French: at the bottom - "ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST", which translates as "STATES OF WEST AFRICA", at the top: "BANQUE CENTRALE" - "CENTRAL BANK".
  • Obverse
    In the central part is a facing head of a Grant's gazelle. Below it is the year of issue: 1971. At the bottom, left and right, are ears of corn. Below them on the left is the designer's mark, Lucien Georges Bazor: G.B.L. BAZOR. Along the top edge of the coin are grape clusters on vine branches.
