    The central part features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Spain. Around the edge is a Latin inscription: 'T.H.HISPAN.ET IND.R.', which translates to 'King of Spain and the Indies'. Along the left arc of the edge is the mint mark for Mexico City. The edge of the coin is decorated with denticulated elements.

    The central part features the right-facing profile of King Charles IV of Spain. To the left and right along the edge is the text: 'CAROLUS.IIII.DEI.GRATIA.', which translates from Latin as 'Charles IV by the grace of God'. In the lower part, along the arc of the edge and separated by dots, is the year of minting: 1807. The edge of the coin is decorated with denticulated elements.
