    The central part features the Brandenburg Gate. Below the image is a two-line inscription '200 ANIV. PUERTA DE BRANDEMBURGO 1791-1991' (200th Anniversary of the Brandenburg Gate 1791-1991), beneath which are the coats of arms of Berlin and Equatorial Guinea. Along the upper edge of the coin is an inscription in Spanish 'SIMBOLO DE LA NUEVA PAZ EN EL MUNDO' (Symbol of the New Peace in the World), flanked on both sides by a six-pointed star.
  • Obverse
    The coat of arms of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is positioned in the center. It features a heraldic shield depicting a silk-cotton tree (bombax). Above the shield, six six-pointed stars are arranged in an arc. At the base is the motto in Spanish 'UNIDAD PAZ Y JUSTICIA' (Unity, Peace and Justice). Along the rim are inscriptions in Spanish: on the left, top, and right, the country name and year of issue 'REPUBLICA DE GUINEA ECUATORIAL 1991' (Republic of Equatorial Guinea 1991); at the bottom, the inscription '1000 FRANCOS' (1000 Francs).
