    In the central part, the numeral 10 within a circle divides the inscription 'Ten Cents' into two parts: 'TEN' above and 'CENTS' below. The coin's edge features a pattern of dots, along which the text reads: 'BANK OF GUYANA' at the top and the year of issue '1967' at the bottom, flanked on both sides by a hoatzin bird. All inscriptions are in English.
  • Obverse
    Depicts the coat of arms of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana. It features a heraldic shield with a Victoria amazonica flower, three rivers of Guyana, and a hoatzin bird. The shield is supported by jaguar supporters: the one on the left holds a pickaxe, the one on the right holds a sugarcane stalk and a rice shoot. Above the shield is a helmet with mantling, topped by feathers. At the base is the motto in English: 'One People, One Nation, One Destiny'. The rim features a pattern of dots.
