Reverse
In the central part of the reverse, a relief boat sails across the Black Lake towards the castle-school. Four children are in the boat. Below the boat is the name of the wizard boy 'HARRY POTTER', on the stern of the boat is the name of the school in English 'HOGWARTS'. Above is the Hogwarts coat of arms. To the left, in the receding waves, are the Latin letters 'PM'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top 'HARRY POTTER', at the bottom in two lines '1 CROWN'.
Obverse
In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley - 'IRB'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of minting '2001'. At the beginning of each inscription is the heraldic symbol of the Isle of Man – a triskelion. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
