Flower sprigs are placed on either side of the wreath. In the upper part, along the curve of the coin's edge, text in Spanish: "POPAYAN" - the Popayán mint. Along the curve of the lower edge, the silver fineness is indicated: "LEI 0,835". The coin's edge features decorative elements in the form of dentils.

On the left, top, and right is an inscription in Spanish: "ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA", which translates to "United States of Colombia". In the central part is the coat of arms of Colombia framed by a laurel wreath. In the lower part, along the curve of the coin's edge, are nine five-pointed stars.
