The central part features a stem and flowers of the Lily of the Valley. Along the bottom edge is its Latin name: "CONVALLARIA MAJALIS".

The central part depicts the coat of arms of Benin - a shield held by two leopards. Along the edge are French inscriptions: at the top, "RÉPUBLIQUE DU BENINE" - "REPUBLIC OF BENIN"; at the bottom, in two lines: "100 FRANCS CFA" - "100 CFA FRANCS".
