In the central part of the reverse is a relief depiction of Elizabeth II on horseback, facing forward. Below her, near the horse's hooves, is the abbreviation: '50P', which stands for 50 pence. Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right is an English inscription, framed by two dots: 'CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II'. Below are the dates, separated by a cross: 1953 - 1993, denoting the year of coronation and the year of minting respectively. The rim of the coin features raised elements in the form of dots.
Obverse
In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the truncation of the neck are the letters 'RDM' - the signature of the sculptor Raphael David Maklouf. On the left side, along the edge of the coin, is the English text: 'QUEEN ELIZABETH II'. On the right is the name of the country: 'FALKLAND ISLANDS'.
