    Rays of varying lengths radiate from the center. Against the background of the rays, within a circle of silvery metal, three hands are depicted: two hands holding a third by the palm and wrist (taking a pulse). Around the edge of the coin the text: '1820 – FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE – 1910', the name of nurse Florence Nightingale, her years of life 1820-1910, and: 'TWO POUNDS'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part, within a circle of silvery metal, the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Around the edge of the coin the inscription: 'ELIZABETH II. D. G. REG. FID. DEF.', which translates from English as 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith' and, separated by dots, the issue date 2010. Below the shoulder truncation the monogram 'IRB' - the engraver's mark of Ian Rank-Broadley. Around the circumferences of the rim and inner circle are decorative elements in the form of dots.
