In the central part, the cypher of Elizabeth II, above it a crown, to the left a rose flower, to the right a sprig of Scottish thistle. Around the edge of the coin the inscription in English: 'QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER'; separated by three flowers, the years 1900-1990 and decorative elements in the form of dots.

In the central part, the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. On the truncation of the shoulder, the initials 'RDM' - the engraver's mark of Raphael David Maklouf. Around the edge of the coin the inscriptions in English: 'ELIZABETH II.DEI.GRATIA.REGINA.F.D', which translates to 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith'; separated by two dots: 'FIVE POUNDS' and decorative elements in the form of dots.
