In the central part - the numeral 5: "٥". Along the arc of the left and right edge of the coin, an inscription in Ottoman Turkish: "عز نصره ضرب في قسطنطينية" - "ABDUL HAMID STRUCK IN CONSTANTINOPLE". Below - the year of accession to the throne of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II: "١٢٩٣" - 1293 AH (Hijri year) or 1876 AD. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
