Reverse
The central part of the coin's reverse features a square cartouche with four decorative scrolls on all sides. Inside the cartouche is a four-line inscription: NE NAM, NE NAM, A IMENI TVOEMU. In the lower left corner of the cartouche, the abbreviation 'S•M•' is struck, and in the right corner 'F•C•'. Together they indicate the Saint Petersburg Mint and its mintmaster, Fyodor Tsentreus. The rim is decorated with denticles.
Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned above and between the heads. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Above the eagle is the issue date—'1796 GODA'—divided by the upper crown. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left—an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'B', under the left—'M'. The designation for the Bank Mint. The rim is decorated with denticles.
