    In the central part, within a circle of dots, is the numeral 1. Alongside it are inscriptions in English: at the top – the name of the British island colony in East Africa - 'MAURITIUS', at the bottom – one cent and the year of minting - 'ONE CENT 1883'. A flower is depicted to the left and right. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is a crowned portrait of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, facing left. Along the edge of the coin is a decorative raised pattern in the form of denticles, alongside which is text in English, split into two parts: on the right - 'QUEEN', on the left - 'VICTORIA', which translates to 'QUEEN VICTORIA'.
