In the central part is a sword, with a crescent moon to its left and a sun to its right. Inscriptions in Nepali are placed along the edge of the coin.
Obverse
In the upper part, along the edge, is text in Nepali. In the central part, within a circle, are two crossed kukri knives. Below is the year of minting in the Samvat calendar: "२००४" - "2004" or 1947 in the Gregorian calendar.
