In the central part, within a circle, the coat of arms of Mauritania. To the left, top, and right along the rim, the country's name in Arabic: 'الجمهورية الإسلامية الموريتانية' - Islamic Republic of Mauritania, at the bottom - the inscription: 'أوقية ١/٥', which translates to: 1/5 ouguiya.
